MHFA is a nationally recognized certification course developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.  The course aims to develop the skills of participants in providing help to a person experiencing a mental health and/or substance use problem or crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved.

Registration information:

Cost to attend is $275.00/person plus 5% GST and the course capacity is 15 participants.
To secure a seat, please complete the attached registration form and return it to me by email – carissaclark17@hotmail.com 
Provider will confirm your seat by email after receiving your completed registration form. This confirmation email will contain an invoice for registration fees. 
Receipts will be issued by email after payment has been received.

The virtual course is delivered in a blended learning format.

Self-Directed Learning

Two weeks prior to the course start date, participants will receive log-in details for the Learning Management System. In the two weeks leading up to the facilitator led virtual classrooms, participants must complete:  

Module One – self directed learning (approx. 2hrs)
Self directed reading of the participant reference guide ~150 pages (approx.. 3-6hrs)

Facilitator Led Virtual ZOOM Classrooms:

Module Two –  facilitator led session (3.5hrs)
Module Three – facilitator led session (3.5hrs)

Technology considerations: Each participant is required to have a device with audio and video capabilities for the ZOOM virtual classroom sessions.

Northern Canadian businesses face a wide range of both opportunities and issues that are different than those in the south. Things such as cost/profit, transportation, goods and services, staffing, customer satisfaction and marketing are common to all, but uniquely different when northern communities engage with their communities. Together we will explore the realities of engaging community and how it impacts on operating a business in the north. *This session is interactive and will build on the experience in the group as well as the trainer’s knowledge and expertise. Your questions will be solicited before the training and will be used as a basis for the 1.5 hours.

Duration: 32 hours Instruction, 4 days at 8 hours each with 1 hour lunch break.
Location: Quality Inn - 1715 Idylwyld Drive N Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Registration: Registration Link Form for Level 1, 2 & 3 and Level 1 Online Theory Form.
Dates: April 24-27th, 2025 , 8am-5:30pm each day.

32 primary credits from MTAS.

Cost: $1312.50 Includes GST.  (Discount if bundled with Level 2 and 3 classes).
Level 1 Online Theory purchased separately but required for the in-person class. $150 + GST if purchased before December 31, 2024. Will go up to $160 + GST on January 1, 2025.

Course Description:
An intensive course involving extensive hands-on work. The basic strokes and their application to each body part are taught. The theory covers anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system, connective tissue, effects of MLD and contraindications. Lymphedemas are described with an emphasis on how MLD can affect them.
